Let's be sustainable! FM & SDG's
Facility Management has a major influence on achieving the SDGs within organizations, but this is often insufficiently penetrated at the top of organizations. Ifmec states that the contribution to achieving the SDGs within companies and institutions runs via the Facility Management axis. FM can be seen as a strategic discipline with an operational focus that enables production in organizations. For this reason, Ifmec has entered into a collaboration with FMN and SDG House Campus Landgoed Zonheuvel to make this awareness known by means of a 17-part video production and a "living document".
Videoproduction: Be Sustainable!
Be sustainable! is the video production on how the field of facilities services can contribute to achieving the 17 sustainability goals of the UN; the SDGs. Achieving the SDGs is an enormous challenge worldwide and will only succeed if all companies and institutions make an effort.
Facility Management has a major influence on achieving the SDGs within organizations, but this is often insufficiently penetrated at the top of organizations. The combined forces of FMN, Ifmec and SDG House Campus Zonheuvel Estate make that clear in this 17-part video production (one SDG per episode).
Ifmec SDG brochure 2023
This “living document” shows for each SDG how Facility Management contributes to the relevant Sustainable Development Goal. Continuously changing good examples illustrate how Facility Management contributes to the goal to be achieved in practice. The document is strengthened by continuously extracting and adding best practices from the market and sharing the knowledge behind the examples in Ifmec's research program. This brochure was compiled in close collaboration with SDG Campus Zonheuvel and FMN (Facility Management Netherlands); the professional association of the facility domain.
“Many of the Best Practices show that a balance between Planet, People and Profit can best be achieved at the company level through Facility Management.”
